Abstract

Retinal detachment is a disorder that can cause blindness and has to be diagnosed and treatment to prevent permanent vision loss. In recent years, advanced imaging techniques and computer-aided analysis have played a vital role in aiding clinicians in the early detection and management of retinal detachment. However, they often rely on manual intervention and may lack robustness in handling variations in retinal images. The abstract also emphasizes how crucial feature selection and dimensionality reduction approaches are for improving the effectiveness and precision of the feature extraction process. The focus of this study is on features that can be detached to more rapidly and cheaply describe how the retina separates from the eye's deeper layers using a fundus picture. The segmentation of eye floaters in the vitreous fluid of the eye is a significant trait that is highlighted in this work. To check whether any eye tissues have become loose, these floaters are color-mapped. It is feasible to tell the difference between the normal eye and the detached eye with extreme precision using the grayscale thresholding value in the histogram analysis. The simulations are run in MATLAB, and successful results have been attained.
