Abstract

In the current day, a transportation problem is an issue requiring multiobjective decision-making. This means selecting the most suitable transportation plan to suit the preferences of the person making this decision, all while taking cost, time and other considerations like ecological and societal effects into account. In this article, the interval type Fermatean fuzzy set is used in a fuzzy transportation problem to represent the transportation cost, demand, and supply. We define this transportation problem as Fermatean fuzzy transportation problems involving hexagonal intuitionistic fuzzy numbers for the transportation costs and values of supplies and demand. The utility of this type of fuzzy set as costs in transportation problem and its application in different real-world scenarios are described in this paper. Here, we introduce new Modified Mehar Approach (MMA) for solved this fuzzy transportation problems with parameters given as the hexagonal intuitionistic fuzzy numbers. As far as we are aware, no existing algorithm has been proposed in the literature that employs MMA for a transportation problem with Fermatean fuzzy sets defining the costs, demands and supplies.To prove the effectiveness of the proposed method, we present an example and conduct comparison with existing techniques. The results obtained by the proposed method are then evaluated.
